Appalachian Experience was founded to preserve, promote, and celebrate one of America’s most remarkable regions.
Through education, storytelling, historical research, travel resources, and community partnerships, we connect people with the places, traditions, and people that make Appalachia unique.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, our mission extends beyond publishing information. We actively chronicle the area’s history and culture, promote healthy lifestyles and safe, minimal-footprint outdoor activities, celebrate the rich ethnic diversity throughout the region, highlight small family businesses, document local history, encourage responsible tourism, and reinvest in Appalachian communities.

How Your Donation Makes an Impact
Your support helps Appalachian Experience shine a light on the people, places, and stories that define the Appalachian region. Appalachian Experience is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to public benefit. Donations to Appalachian Experience are tax deductible, as allowable by law. We use our growing platform to highlight small businesses, outdoor destinations, cultural landmarks, and community initiatives across Appalachia, helping them reach new audiences while fostering pride in the region.
