Welcome to Appalachian Experience (tradename of BackBurner Marketing, LLC)! These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our business listing website and services. By using our website’s features, or claiming or listing your business on www.appalachianexperience.com, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
1. Services & Listing Tiers
Appalachian Experience is a business, places to visit, and events directory that helps businesses and organizations gain visibility within the Appalachian region. Our services are structured in different tiers each offering various benefits and features, as outlined on our pricing page.
Businesses and Places Listings
1.1 Basic Listing (Free)
- Includes business name, address, phone number, and category placement.
- No cost, but limited visibility and features.
- Subject to approval and verification.
1.2 Standard Listing (Paid)
- Includes all Basic Listing features.
- Additional business details, social media links, and image uploads.
1.3 Premium Listing (Paid)
- All Standard features included.
- Additional image uploads.
- Priority placement over free listings.
- Homepage spotlight for 30 days.
1.4 Elite Listing (Paid)
- All Premium features included.
- Additional image uploads
- Homepage spotlight for 30 days.
- Dedicated account manager for strategy support and customer service.
1.5 Add-On Services
- Per-Lead Fee
- Additional Photos/Videos
- Professional Business Description Writing
- Google My Business Sync
- Social Media Promotion
- Homepage Spotlight (30 Days)
Events Listings
1.6 Basic Listing (Free)
- includes title, date, time, price, and location
- 1 category and 2 tags
- Map integration
- User account access for self-updates
1.7 Standard Listing (Paid)
- Includes all Basic Listing features plus
- 100-characters event description
- social media and website links
- 5 image uploads
- Featured placement above free listings
- Recurring listing every 90 days until cancelled
1.8 Premium Listing (Paid)
- All Standard features included.
- Featured event placement (search default and category page)
- 4 additional images
- Social media promotion (1 post on platform’s social pages)
- Homepage Spotlight Feature for 30 days
- Sell event tickets
- Embeddable reviews & ratings on your website
- Recurring listing every 6 months until cancelled

- Homepage Spotlight (30 Days)
2. Payment & Billing
- Paid listings require upfront payment via accepted payment methods.
- Subscription-based plans renew automatically unless canceled before the renewal date.
- No refunds will be issued for partial months or unused services.
- Appalachian Experience reserves the right to adjust pricing with 30 days prior notice.
- Failure to make payment will result in a downgrade to a basic listing.
3. Listing Guidelines
- All information submitted must be accurate, lawful, and not misleading.
- Listings must not contain:
- False, misleading, or exaggerated claims.
- Spam, offensive, or illegal content.
- Competitor sabotage or fake reviews.
- Businesses, events, and/or places of interest must operate within the Appalachian region or provide relevant services to the region.
- Appalachian Experience reserves the right to reject, modify, or remove any listing that violates these Terms.
4. Content Ownership & Usage
- By submitting a listing, you grant Appalachian Experience a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, promote, and distribute your listings information, including but not limited to name, location, contact information, photos, and videos.
- You retain ownership of your listing data but agree that Appalachian Experience may modify content for formatting or compliance purposes.
5. Cancellation & Termination
- You may cancel a paid listing at any time; however, refunds will not be provided for the remaining term. A canceled subscription listing will remain active until the expiration date unless a request to be removed is received by Appalachian Esperince in writing via email (info@appalachianexperience.com) no fewer than 10 days prior to the renewal date.
- Appalachian Experience may suspend or remove a listing if it violates our policies or terms.
6. Liability & Disclaimers
- Appalachian Experience does not guarantee increased business traffic, sales, or customer engagement.
- Appalachian Experience is not responsible for:
- Business disputes arising from listings.
- Loss of revenue due to incorrect listing information.
- Technical errors or website downtime.
- Our services are provided “as-is” without warranties of any kind.
- Appalachian Experience is not responsible for inaccuracies in listings.
7. Changes to Terms
- Appalachian Experience reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time.
- Continued use of the platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
